We built it by hand, we run it ourselves, and we designed every last detail around one thing: a stay that feels genuinely special from the moment you arrive.

Why Vine Cottage?

Three bedrooms, a wood-fired hot tub under the stars, a log burner for cooler evenings and a south-facing garden made for slow mornings. Powered by solar, warmed by an air source heat pump and finished to a boutique standard, Vine Cottage is where thoughtful, low-impact design meets real comfort. Families settle in easily, with flexible zip-and-link beds, a private sun-trap garden and a travel cot and high chair on request, and couples find it just as easy to slow right down.

The wood fired hot tub sits at the end of a private south facing garden, screened on all sides. You light it, watch the sky go dark over the Sussex fields and stay in far longer than you meant to. Loungers, table and space for the kids to run. Available as an optional extra, ready and hot for your arrival.

Inside, the space opens up. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a log burner for the colder months and underfloor heating throughout so the floors are warm the moment you step out of bed. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, hotel quality linen and a kitchen built for cooking properly rather than just reheating.

An award winning eco build, run by the family who built it

Solar power with battery storage, an air source heat pump and an EV charger on the drive. It began life as a derelict bungalow. We bought it, took it down and rebuilt it by hand, and it won Sustainable Build of the Year 2025. We are the family who built it and we run it ourselves, which is the difference you feel in the finish and the welcome.
